On February 5, 2012, Polar and I took a trip to Carlyle Lake in Carlyle, Illinois. We traveled a total of 142 miles round trip. Carlyle Lake is the largest man-made lake within Illinois. The construction of the dam began October 18, 1958; in addition, the lake was dedicated on June 3, 1967. The lake was host for the 1994 U.S. Olympic Festival Sailing Competition. My family and I always go boating, skiing, knee-boarding, and fishing on Carlyle Lake in the summer.
